Welder Qualification Tests for Oklahoma Steam Card.
Welder Qualifications for Oklahoma Department of Labor.
Welder Qualification tests for your company.
All Welder Qualifications are done by destructive testing.
I see lots of questions about the "Steam Card" or the Oklahoma Welder Certification.
Maybe this will answer some of them.
You can NOT weld in the State of Oklahoma until you are Certified with the Oklahoma Department of Labor.
If you are applying for your first Oklahoma Welding Certification you must pass a welding test for a Oklahoma Certified Welding Inspector at a Oklahoma Certified Weld Test Facility. Those are listed on the Oklahoma Department of Labor website: www.ok.gov/odol/documents/SSDWeldTestFacilityApplication.pdf
If you are applying for the first time, you must document that you are legally in the United States. That is done by furnishing a valid drivers license and a social security card or birth certificate, OR valid documents showing you are legally in the U.S. These can NOT be copies, these documents must be official.
If your card is expired you can not weld. You can renew for a $10 late fee, plus the annual fee for up to 1 year. You can NOT weld. When the card says expired, you are not certified.
After 6 months from the expiration date you must retest, unless you can prove thru welder continuity that you have been welding in the process that you are certified in. After 1 year from the expiration date, you must re test!
If you are renewing, make a color copy of your valid drivers license and social security card and include it attached to the application. Be sure to put a current address on the application and be sure to sign and date the application. you can find the application at: http://www.ok.gov/odol/documents/SSDWelderLicenseApplication.pdf
Be sure to sign and date the application! The application has an affidavit on the bottom that the Welder must sign, by signing the Welder swears that he has in fact been welding with the process that he is qualified in, during the last 6 months.
